Unnamed Waterfall on Coppermine Brook 3

Description

Unnamed Waterfall on Coppermine Brook 3 is a small waterfall in the Delaware Water Gap. Unlike most waterfalls on Coppermine Brook, this one is visible from the trail and fairly easy to reach. Unfortunately, while it’s much easier to reach than most neighboring waterfalls, it’s also the most underwhelming. It is a simple 6-foot cascade down a rocky section of Coppermine Brook.

The hike to the waterfall is fairly easy, but it involves about 230 feet of elevation gain in a short distance, though it is never steep.

Directions

  1. Take the Red Coppermine Trail from the parking area on Old Mine Road.
  2. Follow this trail for about 0.4 miles until you reach a footbridge crossing Coppermine Brook. (Note, an unmarked trail leaves to the left at the beginning of the hike; this takes you to a few larger waterfalls, most notably Lower Coppermine Falls).
  3. At the bridge, you can see the waterfall just upstream.

Parking

The parking area is very small. While there used to be a large parking area at the bottom of the Coppermine Trail, it has since been blocked. Now, there are about 4-5 spaces on the shoulder of Old Mine Road at the trailhead. Alternatively, there is another small parking area about 0.25 miles down the road at the Poxono Boat Launch, which can also fill up during boating season.
