Camp Wyanokie Falls is a small waterfall near and named after Camp Wyanokie, a small campground owned by a group of Essex County municipalities (despite its location in Passaic County). It is located just downstream of Camp Wyanokie Falls.
Reaching the waterfall is fairly easy to reach with two main access points:
- Camp Wyanokie: Park at Camp Wyanokie in one of the pull-off parking areas on Snake Den Road. You will see the picnic pavilion and the small pond. Just past the pavilion is the pond’s dam. Cross the dam, then turn left onto the Yellow Camp Wyanokie Trail. Follow the trail for just under a half mile. Camp Wyanokie Falls will be on your left. From Camp Wyanokie Falls, walk downstream about 100 feet until you reach Lower Camp Wyanokie Falls.
- Westbrook Road: Park at the small parking lot on Westbrook Road. Walk a few hundred feet downhill along the shoulder of the road until you reach Roaring Brook Road, where you will find the Yellow Camp Wyanokie Trail. Follow this trail upstream for about 0.8 miles until you reach Camp Wyanokie Falls on your right. From Camp Wyanokie Falls, walk downstream about 100 feet until you reach Lower Camp Wyanokie Falls.
Lower Camp Wyanokie Falls features a short cascade into a large pool similar to the main waterfall. Multiple fallen trees provide areas to view the waterfall without getting wet.
