Three Block Falls is a small waterfall in Wayne Township’s High Mountain Park Preserve.
The waterfall cascades down a series of basalt “blocks,” hence the name, though there do appear to be more than three “blocks.” The basalt gives Three Block Falls one of New Jersey’s more distinctive appearances. While it shares some characteristics with the nearby Buttermilk Falls, Three Block Falls is taller and has a larger drainage area, making it more impressive.
Directions
- Park on Reservoir Drive at the intersection with Navajo Trail Drive
- Locate the Red Trail and follow it about 0.2 miles into the park until you reach an unmarked woods road to the left
