Three Block Falls is a small waterfall in Wayne Township’s High Mountain Park Preserve.
The easiest and quickest way to reach Three Block Falls is to park on Reservoir Drive at the intersection with Navajo Trail Drive. From here, follow the Red Trail about 0.2 miles into the park. Three Block Falls is located just off the Red Trail on an unmarked woods road. You can see where the woods road crosses the top of Three Block Falls from the Red Trail. From here you can easily make your way to the base of the falls.
The waterfall cascades down a series of basalt “blocks”, hence the name, though there do appear to be more than three “blocks.” The basalt gives Three Block Falls one of the more unique appearances in New Jersey. While it shares some characteristics with the nearby Buttermilk Falls, Three Block Falls has a larger drainage area, making it a more impressive display.
