An Unnamed Waterfall on Old Mine Road in Worthington State Forest

Unnamed Waterfall on Old Mine Road is a seasonal roadside waterfall in Worthington State Forest along Old Mine Road.

The waterfall is located just across the road from the driveway to the park office. Additionally, there is trail parking for the Rock Cores Trail just next to this driveway at 41.005139, -75.097972. Note that this trail does not take you to the waterfall. To reach the waterfall, begin walking towards the Rock Cores Trail. Just before the gate across the trail, there is an unmarked trail to the right. Take this trail, a very short but steep scramble through loose soil. At the top of this scramble, you can take a short trail to the base of the main drop.

As a multi-step waterfall, the 60.9-foot drop may be surprising as it appears much shorter in reality. This is because the main focal point drop is only about 18 feet; the rest of the waterfall is a more gradual cascade. As this waterfall is seasonal and has a small drainage area, the lower cascade is fairly unimpressive despite its height, often looking bare even when the main drop has some water. Additionally, it is fairly difficult to see and approach the lower cascades due to heavy undergrowth. It is fairer to refer to this waterfall as 18 feet. For this reason, the waterfall is set to 18 feet on the sorting feature for the main waterfall page. The pictures below are from this upper 18-foot drop. When those pictures were taken, and on all other visits, the lower cascades were virtually dry.
