Roaring Brook Falls

Roaring Brook Falls

Description

Roaring Brook Falls is a modest waterfall tucked away within the Rockleigh Woods Sanctuary and Lamont Reserve. Standing at just 4.9 feet with a limited drainage area, it is one of New Jerseyโ€™s smallest and most underwhelming falls. However, both Rockleigh Woods Sanctuary and Lamont Reserve (essentially the same park, just labeled differently across municipal lines) are nice places to walk and exceptionally well maintained. While a great place for locals looking for a short walk, the waterfall and preserves are not worth a long drive.

Parking

Parking for Roaring Brook Falls is easy but somewhat hidden. It is located behind the Rockleigh Borough Municipal Building at 26 Rockleigh Rd, Rockleigh, NJ 07647, and shares a parking lot with it. While there are no signs in front of the building for trail access, it is obvious you are in the right place once you park.
