Description
The Lockatong High Falls is a small, relatively unknown waterfall in Kingwood, New Jersey. The waterfall is a short walk along the generally unmaintained White Trail in the Lockatong Wildlife Management Area. Unlike nearby waterfalls such as Kugler Woods Falls and Tumble Falls, the Lockatong High Falls generally looks good year-round due to its larger drainage area.
Parking
Parking is available at 235 Kingwood Stockton Rd, Stockton, NJ 08559. The parking lot is at the end of a poorly maintained, quarter-mile dirt road. The road is littered with potholes, and I would advise coming in a high-clearance vehicle. At the end of the driveway, there is a crude parking lot that holds about 10 cars, but this number depends on how other people park.
Directions
From the parking area, it is an easy hike to the falls.
- Locate the trail between two cut logs with the preserve rules posted on them.
- Follow the generally unmarked, but easy-to-follow trail for 0.9 miles to where it ends at the falls.
