Boonton Falls

Boonton Falls

Description

Boonton Falls is a large and powerful waterfall in the town of Boonton on the Rockaway River. Despite being a relatively calm river, Boonton Falls marks the beginning of the Boonton Gorge, a short section of whitewater on the river. There are multiple areas to view the waterfall from either side of the river, as access across is provided by a historic stone bridge.

Due to the large drainage area, Boonton Falls often looks good, even when other nearby waterfalls are just a trickle.

Directions and Parking

Access to the waterfall is from the northern section of Grace Lord Park. There is no official parking lot here, but there is plenty of street parking on Essex Avenue. From the parking area simply follow the obvious trail down past the playground until you reach the waterfall.
