From the parking area, begin by walking along Snake Den Road. After about a quarter mile, Snake Den Road ends, and you will reach a small kiosk. From the kiosk begin the co-blazed Blue and Yellow Trails and start on the first uphill section of the hike. Once you reach the top of this initial climb, the Yellow Trail leaves to the left. Continue straight to remain on the Blue Trail, and begin another climb for about a mile. You will soon reach an intersection where the co-blazed Teal and Red Trails turn left. Turn left onto these trails. There is a somewhat challenging rock scramble at this point. After the rock scramble you will reach the Wyanokie High Point.

The Wyanokie High Point offers 360-degree views featuring the Wanaque Reservoir, New York City, and the surrounding mountains of the New Jersey Highlands. The view from the Wyanokie High Point is arguably one of the best in the entire state and one of the only areas in the region with a panoramic view.

From the Wyanokie High Point, there are miles of trails from which you can extend your hike. Alternatively, you can return to the parking lot the same way to came.
