Mayor Dunleavy Memorial Park is a small park located in Bloomingdale, Passaic County. Despite being a county-run park, the property is more akin to a town park at only nine acres, and is mostly used for its dog park. To further its appearance as a town park, the property is actually named after the former mayor of Bloomingdale. Despite not being particularly impressive, the park as a whole is nice and well-kept, especially the dog park area.

The Park
The park is named after the former mayor of Bloomingdale, Jonathan Dunleavy, who died in 2020. Prior to the Mayor Dunleavy Memorial Park, the park was known as Friendship Park. Along with the renaming of the park, the trail network was improved, and a dog park was added.
The property itself is only nine acres, and the houses are in view on the entire perimeter trail (the Orange Trail). The dog park is by far the highlight, featuring a nice area for both small and large dogs.
Trails
There is a small network of trails behind the dog park. The trails feature small inclines along an easy natural surface. Despite a large trail network for such a small property, none of the trails are particularly interesting but they are well marked. For series hikers, Norvin Green State Forest up the road, or the nearby Passaic County Apshawa Preserve, are better options.
