Damming waterways damages the stream ecology by:
- Disturbing the stream bed; trapping sediment and stirring up silt and mud
- Blocking the movement of fish and invertebrates
- Warming the water and reducing the oxygen levels needed for aquatic life
- Altering stream flow and increasing bank erosion.
Please enjoy this natural area without altering it or leaving trash behind.
The Park
Hedden County Park is a small Morris County park located in portions of Mine Hill, Randolph, and Dover. Primarily used by residents, the park is nice, but nothing too exciting for visitors from out of town. The highlight of the park is the Green Trail, which follows Jackson Brook and passes next to a small waterfall named Indian Falls.
Aside from the trails, there is a scenic pond for fishing, a couple of softball fields, and a few picnic areas scattered around the park.
