The Park
Cedar Grove Community Park is a typical municipal park featuring the expected amenities such as playgrounds, sports fields, and a handful of walking trails. The back of the park is wooded and features a few unmarked trails, including a couple of trails to Devil’s Hole Falls.
The front of the park, where the playgrounds and fields are, is very nice and well-kept. The wooded area in the back could use some major trash cleanup, especially the area surrounding Devil’s Hole Falls.
Review
Cedar Grove Community Park is complicated. On one hand, the front portion of the park has nice, if somewhat standard, facilities. Although basic, it still serves its purpose, with multiple grass fields, a short paved walking path, and a few small playground areas. The neighboring community pool is also nice, though it is limited to members. The park becomes less pleasant in the back sections of the park, especially along the route to Devil’s Hole Falls. This area has clearly been used as a hangout spot for years, and as a result, there is extensive litter and makeshift dirt bike features throughout. The nearby Peckman River, which runs alongside the park, also gives off a strong, unpleasant odor, likely due to pollution. Unless you are specifically visiting for the waterfalls, this park is best suited for residents.
