About
Explore North Jersey is run by a local outdoor enthusiast who grew up exploring the woods of North Jersey and currently has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. The site started out of frustration with reading many travel guides featuring posts about places the author clearly has never visited. Unlike those websites, the author of Explore North Jersey has visited nearly every site featured on this website, and all pictures were taken by the author, ensuring the most accurate descriptions. Note: all waterfalls in New Jersey are featured under the waterfall tab with basic information for completion, even if the author has not visited them yet. The author is committed to visiting all waterfalls in New Jersey. Full guides are not provided until the author has visited them.
My goal is to highlight lesser-known parks in addition to the popular destinations in the state.
Note: Visiting and writing take a long time, and I currently work full-time. My goal is to upload a new post once a week, and I have a backlog if I get behind. Waterfall pages are constantly being updated as I visit or revisit them.
