Description

Tumble Falls is a moderately sized but intermittent waterfall located in Kingwood Township. The waterfall is located a short distance from the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Towpath, but it is on private property. Fortunately, it is visible from the low-traffic Tumble Falls Road.

Tumble Falls is very seasonal; chances are the waterfall will be completely dry when you visit. The best time to visit is during or immediately after heavy, sustained rain or after snowmelt. The image above was taken 4 days after the area received about 3 inches of rain (locally up to 6 inches!), and it is dry (though it was taken in summer, when most waterfalls look poor.

South of Tumble Falls and visible from Route 29 are 3 additional seasonal waterfalls. These do not have a page dedicated to them as they have even smaller drainage areas and are more likely to be dry. The additional waterfalls can be found at:
