Mount Hope Historical Park is a small to moderately sized county park located in Rockaway Township. Operated by the Morris County Park Commission, this park features the remains of three mines: the Teabo, Allen, and Richard Mines. While mining has ceased, hikers can explore the land scarred by these operations through a series of sinkholes known as subsidence pits.
This park is primarily used for hiking, with no facilities other than the parking area and hiking trails.

The park features about 2.5 miles of trails, as well as the option to extend the hike slightly by hiking into the neighboring Mount Hope Pond park, which is operated by Rockaway Township.

Review
Mount Hope Historical County Park is decent, but not as interesting as the map would lead you to believe. While the map features a ten-stop guided tour, most of the described points have very little to show. It is also annoying to read about these points, as Morris County no longer leaves paper trail maps at the directory, and the numbered points have no additional information without consulting the map. The park is best for those looking for a relatively easy hike on well-maintained trails, or for those interested in mining history.

The park features the remains of three mining operations: the Teabo, Allen, and Richard Mines. While not much remains of these mines, hikers can witness the effect the mining had on the landscape through a series of subsidence pits (sinkholes) and mine tailings (excavated waste rock).
